This humble offering is gratefully presented in the Name of Love. It hopes to serve the ultimate purpose of proliferating this expression of worship through sacred sound. Just as importantly, it seeks to preserve and amplify an enormous gift of African American culture.

These songs Are meant to be sung out of our hearts. They are alive with vibrations of prayer,  joy, & hope. In our modern world they still have the power to break the shackles of self-imposed exile and slavery to material consciousness!

Please forgive... the songs were not sung by professionals and were poorly recorded. This is not offered as entertainment,  but as a workbook for those interested in learning to sing, share, & enjoy these songs as we have. All these songs are public domain. There are no fixed arrangements or even words. The "ebonic" pronunciations are vital to the genuine cadence and flow of the music.  They may seem a bit exaggerated when seen on the sheet but are generally much more subtle and natural in the singing. In keeping with tradition also, they are sung a capella only.
